Additive manufacturing processes promise many advantages: they are material-efficient, they design individual products, they can bring value creation back to industrialized countries, they participate in digitization and are a key technology for Industry 4.0. However, the big breakthrough has so far failed to materialize, although numerous areas of application have been opened up.
Thuringia has proven expertise in the development and production of optical components, systems and equipment. In addition, the research and optimization of optical production processes has a long tradition in Thuringia and has contributed to being perceived as a precision engineer in addition to its high level of optical expertise.
As part of the conference, Petra Wyrowski will give a talk on "Flat Optics Design Meets the Next Level of Additively Manufactured Microoptics."
